2012 Conference mobile app is alive!

For the second year, we have a mobile app available for the annual conference. Last year was the first year that we used the current platform and we heard lots of positive feedback on the app. We hope that an earlier launch will help get the word out about the app and let people try it out before the conference and learn about some of the features.

The 2012 TLA app features include:
• Interactive exhibitor list
• Exhibitor e-brochures & product info available for download (coming soon!)
• Interactive floor plan maps
• Complete listing of events
• Interactive show schedule
• Real-time show alerts via text messaging
• Exhibitor searches
• Social media interaction with live feed of tweets including #TXLA12

TLA 2012 is available for download on your mobile phone by pointing your mobile browser here as well as from on-phone application stores as a native application for iPhone and Android users, and is available as a web-based application for BlackBerry and all other smartphone users.

If you have questions or run into problems, please leave a comment below and we will do our best to answer the question. It is always useful to help us in our troubleshooting to let us know what kind of device you are using.

One note - additional information is being added to the application as sessions change, we finalize the author signing schedule, and speakers are confirmed, so expect ongoing changes as we get closer to the conference.

Will there be wifi throughout the convention center this year?

There will be wifi available on the 3rd floor of the convention center. I am checking on details about availability elsewhere and will post details to the conference blog when I find out.

TLA App - Earlier is Better

Glad they released the App earlier this year! It gives us time to use it as we plan out our time and schedules for TLA!
There is a PreConference session on Tuesday from 1-5. "Learn to Use Your Smart Phone and the TLA App".
Does anyone know if that is really a 4 hour session or just a come and go type help training?

This is a come and go event! That will be located in the registration area.

GPS Geochache app Suggestions?

I too used the TLA Conference app last year on my ipad and it was great! Cannot wait to see what this year's is like.

Also I would like to participate in the geocaching activity using my ipad. I have never done geocaching before. Can anyone recommend an app for the ipad that would help with this fun new activity at the conference?

I used this app last year, and it was a life saver. I loved everything about it, and highly recommend using it.
