A Call for Presenters - Lightning Talks: Innovative Technology Applications for Reference & Instruction
Lightning Talks: Innovative Technology Applications for Reference & Instruction
Using mobile apps, qr codes, mobile websites, discovery tools, or other emerging technologies in library instruction, programming, or reference? Share your project with other librarians at the TLA 2012 Annual Conference in Houston! Lightning talks offer an opportunity for Texas librarians from all types of libraries to present innovative reference and instructional projects that do not require the length of a longer talk.
In this fast-paced session each presenter will have 5 minutes to discuss their project and its results. Projects still in the planning or implementation phase will be considered. PowerPoint slides are welcome, but are limited to 15 slides. Talks should be energetic, exciting, and innovative.
This session will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 2-3:20 pm.
Send your proposal with your name, email, institution/organization, title for your lightning talk, and a 50 word description of your talk to WickeA@uhcl.edu. Please put TLA 2012 Lightning Talk in the subject of your message.
Proposals must be received by Monday, February 20, 2012.
Successful proposals will have a clear topic and be related to library instruction and reference. Presenters will be notified of acceptance March 1, 2012.
If accepted, presenters will be required to submit any handouts and PowerPoint slides to the moderator by April 2, 2012.
