What trends do you see in the library market?
As more and more schools undergo a digital transformation, school libraries need bold leadership. In order to succeed in college and career, school libraries will need to teach students digital literacy, modern research techniques, and cutting-edge skills that apply across all subjects, curriculum, and physical boundaries.

Today's students need strong leaders who understand the importance of transforming libraries into vibrant hubs of active digital learning, and therefore, new types of training for librarians will begin to emerge. Strong, future-ready libraries will be what our students need and what schools will strive to provide. This requires the expertise of dynamic librarians, who can make the difference in a district's future success.

What motivates you to be a member of TLA?
As TLA serves the libraries and librarians in Texas, Follett is committed to the same mission and goals of the organization — the success of the individuals and the libraries within the state. With a long and rich history in the school library market, Follett is committed to library advocacy through its sponsorship of ALA and its yearly awards; Project Connect, a panel of industry thought leaders from the preK-12, professional association, and higher education space working together to advocate for powerful school libraries and future ready librarians; and Follett Community, a free online gathering place where members can share ideas, solutions, and collaborate with other K-12 learning professionals. Follett consistently relies upon input from working librarians and consortiums, like the Region 11 Education Service Center in Texas, to improve Destiny® Library Manager™ and ensure libraries and librarians have the tools they need to operate efficiently and move students into successful adults.
