INVITATION
LIST
The following
individuals are sent the housing and registration packets in June
:
-
TLA Standing and ad
hoc Committee members
-
Officers of Divisions,
Round Tables, Interest Groups, and Districts. (Officers are
defined as executive committee members as listed in each unit's
bylaws.)
-
Councilors and
Councilor-Alternates
Sub-committee members
are not mailed housing and registration information, except by
request of the unit chair. If your unit's sub-committee will meet
during Annual Assembly, you should ensure
that:
-
a Meeting Request Form is completed for each
sub-committee meeting
-
the TLA office is given the names and addresses of
the sub-committee members so that a packet of housing and
registration materials may be sent to them
ROOM
SET-UP
The customary room
set-up is conference style; i. e., one large conference table, or
tables arranged in a U-shape, (depending on the size of the room).
For most meetings, you only need to check "conference" set-up if you
will have no food service, head table, or audio-visual
requirements.
OPEN AND
CLOSED MEETINGS
TLA
policy requires that all meetings are open (see TLA Bylaws Article
XIII, Section 3) except when personnel matters are being
discussed.
NON-TLA
GROUPS MEETING AT ASSEMBLY
The Texas Library Association will
attempt to honor requests from NON-TLA groups for meeting space at
Annual Assembly, if the request comes from a group that is library
related and whose purpose is allied to TLA's. Priority for meeting
times and space will be given to TLA groups. Outside organizations
will be charged for any audio-visual equipment and/or catering
used.
