The theme for the 2009 conference speaks to our collective focus on democratic rights and the role of libraries in supporting opportunity for everyone. TLA 2009 examined the long struggles involved with achieving equality in opportunities while looking ahead to the ongoing and fundamental role libraries must have in supporting progress and leading the way toward innovation and learning.
