Annual Conference
2005 April 5-8 • Austin Convention Center |
||||||||||||||||
For
the first time in almost 40 years,
librarians, library supporters, and vendors gathered in
Austin for the annual TLA conference. Texas treasure
Liz Carpenter stepped in to address the first general
session when Cokie Roberts was dispatched to Rome.
Bertice Berry presented her unique mix of humor and
inspiration at the second general session, and Gloria Estefan
delighted a record crowd at the closing luncheon.
Woven around these key events were, of course, a wealth of
programs, parties, conversations, meetings, and the first
ever RALLY for Texas Libraries on the Capitol steps.
