1999 TLA Conference Makes the Record!

The 1999 TLA Annual Conference once again proved to be a record-breaking success. Over 6,396 library professionals attended the 86th TLA Annual Conference in Dallas.

The total included librarians from various types of libraries: 619 academic; 1,466 public; 3,638 school; and 142 special. The remaining attendees included friends, trustees, other library supporters, and exhibitor representatives.

The 1999 TLA Exhibits Committee co-chairs were Karen Hopkins, Univ. of Texas at Arlington Library, Steven Hagstrom, Tarrant County College, and L.G. Swift, Jr., Shamblee Branch Library/FWPL. Karen, Steve, and L.G. worked diligently to provide exhibitors with assistance in all areas throughout the conference.

Sandy Babb, Burleson Public Library, and Sandra McCurdy, Euless Public Library, were the friendly faces at exhibitor registration. Rachel Orozco, City of Arlington, chaired exhibitor boothsitting.

Congratulations to the 1999 TLA Exhibits
Committee for an exemplary job!
