Welcome to the introductory issue of the electronic version of Showtalk, the
TLA newsletter exclusively for exhibitors. This is an exciting time foryou! You
are being offered many new services this year exclusively throughbroadcast
email and internet access. TLA has the good fortune of knowing that98% of our
current exhibitors have email so electronic offerings are apossibility from
which we can both benefit.
NEW FEATURES this year include:
- Broadcast
email. Many of you have already received a broadcast email
message from Aileen Cavazos or myself for various reasons. This will become
more commonplace as we correspond with you almost exclusively through
email. It is imperative that we have current email addresses for you, so
please inform us of your email changes. You are also encouraged to list an
email address for an additional company listing to insure your company
receives our correspondence. For email updates, contact Aileen Cavazos.
Remember to forward your email correspondence to additional company
representatives so they stay informed of important TLA exhibits deadlines
and information throughout the year.
- An interactive
'CAD' MAP
of the 2000 TLA exhibit hall. The cad system is a unique
interactive map software offering new advances in the tradeshow market.
TLA has utilized the print version since 1998. We are now one of the few
utilizing it on the internet. The alphabetical listing to the left of the
map allows you to find your exhibit easily. You can zoom-in to read
company names or zoom-out to see the entire exhibit hall. An amazing
feature is how the map regenerates instantly for every click and drag motion. This capability is offered
by downloading a Java application. This may take a few minutes to download.
Please inform us if you are having difficulty obtaining it.
- Exclusive exhibitor listings on the TLA website.
The interactive map will link to an exclusive page on the TLA website
dedicated to each exhibiting firm. An example of this feature can be
obtained by selecting the Texas State Library and Archives Commission
exhibit space #2501. The listing will offer links to the exhibiting firm s
website and the main exhibitor representative s email address. This
feature will be offered by November 15, 1999.
- Online exhibitor marketing services. The entire 2000 TLA Exhibitor Marketing Kit
will be offered exclusively on the TLA website. Upcoming issues of the Showtalk
will introduce the online information. Some of the offerings include:
weblinks, Texas Library Journal advertising, 2000 TLA Conference
Program advertising, 2000 TLA Commercial and Individual membership,
sponsorship opportunities, and label/list information.
- Online exhibitor program listing,
buyers guide, and badge
registration.
Beginning January 2000, exhibitors will be allowed to submit this
information to TLA exclusively online. This allows exhibitors to have more
timely control over changes as they occur. A secure password system and
reply email confirmation by TLA staff will be implemented.
- Additional forms. Other documents
and forms to be offered online are the conference housing and registration
forms, authors area, and boothsitter reservation forms.
Stay tuned to your email for excitingtechnological
