New Technology Showcase
Do you ever wish you could demonstrate new products to a group of librarians
assembled in one location – a place where your product would be the only one
on display – a place where librarians can listen to your entire presentation
without the distractions of the conference exhibit floor? The ninth annual New
Technology Showcase is the answer.
The Automation and Technology Round Table is again sponsoring the New Technology Showcase for the Texas Library Association Conference, April 11-14, 2000 in Houston. Showcase presentations will be held in a conference room conveniently located in the exhibit hall. Seating for 50 attendees will be provided, along with electrical and Internet connections.
Your presentation, including presenter and product name, will be listed in the conference printed program and on the TLA website. There will be flyers announcing the presentation schedule at the registration area and a sign in the exhibit hall. Members of the Round Table will be on hand to introduce you and your product, while others will provide "booth sitting" services if needed.
If your product is selected as one of the presentations scheduled on April 12 and April 13, you will be billed $125.00 to help defray the cost of presenting the Showcase.
If you are interested in participating in our Showcase, or if you have any questions, contact Connie Moss at (214) 670-1748, fax at (214) 670-1752, or at cmoss@lib.ci.dallas.tx.us. Completed applications must be received by December 1, 1999.
Acquisitions and Collection Development Round Table and the TPALS Round Table to Sponsor BreakfastThe buffet-style breakfast is open to all exhibitor representatives and acquisitions and collection development librarians from academic, public, school, and special libraries. The program outline consists of an informal discussion related to acquisitions issues.
All exhibitor contributions to the breakfast should be made in advance. Please contact Mary Beth Thomson at MBThomson@uh.edu or by phone, 713/743-9690. Contributors will be introduced during the breakfast.
The Acquisitions and Collection Development Round Table seeks to improve acquisitions and collection development in libraries. We encourage the exchange of ideas and techniques among libraries, and to foster relations with other branches of library service, such as publishers and vendors.
