TLA 2000 Membership Opportunities |
First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge the past leadership of this organization. Lisa Winter, Mike Fleming and Doug Manning deserve much credit for their hard work and guidance. As an organization, we should work hard to perpetuate the vision of the past while continuing to generate ideas on how to better serve our customers, the libraries of Texas. We have experienced consistent growth and participation in membership but there is plenty of room for additional growth. Please continue to promote TPALS to all vendors. Let's use TPALS as a forum to provide all our customers the opportunity to learn more about ourselves and our companies.
If possible, please reserve time at the TLA conference to participate in the TPALS conference program scheduled Thursday, April 13, 11:00 am -11:50 am. We have facilitated quality dialog in past sessions but this is a case where bigger is better, so ask your customers to participate this year in Houston. And, please do not forget the TPALS Annual Golf Tournament, schedule Tuesday, April 11. We had a great time last year and it will be even better this year. A future issue of the Showtalk will be dedicated to the conference program so watch for further updates on these programs sponsored by TPALS.

The 2000 TLA Individual Membership form is located on the TLA website. Exhibitors and vendors qualify to join as individual members at the lay member rate of $15 per person. You can join TPALS by marking this round table on your form. And, you are welcome to join as many Divisions and Round Tables as you wish at the 10% or 5% additional amount.
Exhibitors and vendors are also encouraged to become 2000 TLA Commercial Members. The many benefits and discount package are listed on the form.

Online versions of our member publications can be obtained in addition to the printed versions. These publications are the TLACast and Texas Library Journal. Stay informed of all important news related to the preparation for the 2000 TLA Annual Conference in addition to other important topics related to Texas libraries and librarians.
