is a new feature of the TLA 2000 Exhibitor web pages. Divided into three specific
areas, you will be able to easily select and obtain:
o recent issues of the Showtalk.
o find topics related to a particular issue of each Showtalk.
o find TLA exhibitor-related forms.
TLA 2000 Authors Area Taking Reservations
TLA Conference 2000 Authors Area promises to be the
largest and best in TLA history! We have improved the system so you will be
able to sell your author's books alongside the author while he/she autographs
in the front of the aisle. Twelve author aisles will accommodate most requests
during "heavy traffic periods". The Author
Area Reservation Form is on the TLA website. This form is
not an electronic form but, the information can be typed on the screen
and then you can print the form and mail or fax to TLA @ 512/328-8852. The
deadline to submit your request is February
26, 2000.
Boothsitters Available at TLA 2000
TLA boothsitting, a unique offering by TLA, is
a service that assists exhibitors in various capacities. Originally intended
to be a complimentary service for "lone" representatives, the service
has expanded to offer any firm assistance at the reasonable rate of $20 per
hour, one hour minimum. Boothsitters consist of member volunteers and library
school students. Request your boothsitter by utilizing the Boothsitting
Form. Boothsitters are available on a first-com, first-served basis, so
do not delay your request! Please review further information on the form. This
form is not an electronic form but, the
information can be typed on the screen and then you can print the form and mail
or fax to TLA @ 512/328-8852. The deadline
to submit your request is February 26, 2000.
Spring is TLA and Houston Astros Baseball!
This year the Texas Library Association is providing a great opportunity to
unwind after a day of moving-in. A block of seats has been secured in the new
Enron Field of the Houston Astros for Tuesday evening, April
11, so you can
relax and enjoy and exciting game in a brand-new field that will have just
opened on April 7.
That night, the Houston Astros will be playing the St. Louis Cardinals in the second of a three game series. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. and the best news is Enron Field is only four blocks from the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Tickets are $12 each so reserve your seats today! Checks are payable to the Texas Library Association (sorry credit card orders are not acceptable with advanced orders). Please send your seat order, check and questions to Mary Alford, TLA 2000 Exhibits Committee Co-Chair at:

Tickets will be guaranteed with payment. All unpaid ticket requests will be released on April 3. Tickets can be picked up at Exhibitor Registration on April 11 beginning at 9:00 a.m. or arrangements can be made to mail you the tickets in advance. See you in Houston!
