District 8 2017 Fall Conference

The District 8 Fall Conference features innovative and creative breakout sessions for all library types, a thought-provoking keynote speech to inspire participants, District 8 business meeting, breakfast and lunch, networking opportunities with colleagues and vendors, and more. 


Keynote Speaker

Local author Mary Dodson Wade (http://marydwade.com/) will be our keynote speaker. She will be available for a book signing following her presentation, and a limited number of books will be available for purchase.

    • Library Student Discount: $25
    • Vendor-Sponsored Luncheon Table: $50
    • Vendor Display / Exhibitor Table: $100
 
Fall Conference Food Bank Drive

We will doing a food drive for the Houston Food Bank (http://www.houstonfoodbank.org/).  The Houston Food Bank has been integral in providing assistance to people whose lives were upended by Hurricane Harvey. 

Most-needed items:

  • Canned ready-to-eat items with pull tops: vegetables, fruit Protein in pouches or pull-top cans: tuna, beef stew, chili, canned chicken
  • Peanut butter
  • Snacks: granola bars, breakfast bars, etc.
  • Toiletries
  • Paper goods
  • Diapers
  • Cleaning supplies: mops, mop buckets, brooms, bleach wipes, bleach, garbage bags, bug spray
Please bring your donations to the conference, and they will be delivered to the Houston Food Bank on Sunday October 15th.
