Present: Theresa Hefner-Babb, Clara Latham, Helena Arthur-Okor, Renee Wood, Ashlynn Wicke, Lela Evans, Wade Kinnin, Kelli Wilder, Donnell Callender, Cynthia Henry, Kimberly Vardeman, Carol Scamman, Angie Bartula, Jeffrey Levy, Treva Shawn Anderson, Kristen Davis, Jan Tidwell, Reuben Kaller, Carmen Doering.
Chair, Kelli Wilder convened the meeting at 4:05 pm.
Approval of Minutes
Annual Assembly minutes. Donnell made motion to approve. Seconded Wade Kinnin.
Annual Conference meetings from last April will be redistributed to the membership and voted on at Annual Assembly. Kristen Davis will send the most current version to outgoing secretary Theresa Hefner-Babb who will post them for changes and forward the corrected version to incoming secretary/treasurer Renee Wood.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Bites with LIRT is on Thursday at Manuels 310 Congress Ave. Meet at registration area at noon if you are going.
REPORTS
Treasurer’s Report- Theresa Hefner-Babb reported that the ending budget amount is: $10, 461.93. Kelli Wilder indicated this will change with registrations for the preconference and the conference expenses.
Councilor report – Carol Scamman indicated that Council II is where the decision is going to be made about districts. Steven Wise will be attending so let him know about votes and concerns.
Newsletter editor: no report
Devin Zimmerman Scholarship –Committee chair Carol Scamman reported that they selected Angie Bartula at Arlington Public Library for the scholarship. Devin Zimmerman conference committee did a great job per Carol Scamman. Had 13 applicants and one withdrew because she had funding. Carol had certificates for the members.

Project Award given to Coppell ISD Elementary School Librarians.
Instructor of the Year Award given to Dr. Laura Sheneman.
Election results:
Incoming chair –Donnell Callender
Chair elect – Theresa Hefner-Babb
Secretary Treasurer – Renee Wood
LIRT Summit 2011 day-long event usually on a Friday in September.
Theresa Hefner-Babb offered to hold the conference at Lamar University. Date TBA
Solicit program ideas in June. Attendance approximately 35 people
Send ideas about theme to Theresa Hefner-Babb
Annual Conference 2012
"Theme is R 4 L: Responsive for libraries, Relevant for libraries, revolutionary for libraries, right now for libraries."
Program ideas due by June 15, 2011, including posting to online form.
Ideas – Immersion panel, session on Jing, Roving Reference meet customers where they are at,
Community colleges collaboration with faculty, embedded librarianship, trans-literacy, send Donnell Callender any ideas for conference.
Partner with reference round table or team up with program committee
Ashlynn Wicke - program committee liaison for LIRT
Announcements:
New members: Treva Anderson, South Texas College, Helena Arthur-Okor, Lamar University
3 unit summer course at Midwestern State approved. Information Skills and the Technology. Students guide to digital research is the textbook they will use.
Need a newsletter editor and webmaster.
Kimberly Vardeman newsletter and Lela Evans volunteered to do webmaster.
