TEXAS REFERENCE SOURCES PROJECT
STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
NOTE: The Texas Library Association and/or the Reference Round Table will retain copyright on all parts of the final publication.
SECTION EDITORS
Primary responsibility for selection of items to include in their assigned sections. Section Editors will have approximately 4 months to complete their assignment. Earlier completion is encouraged. A progress report must be sent to the General Editor at the end of the first two months. Expected to evaluate available Texas reference resources for their subject (print and electronic), select most usefull and most important ones for inclusion, compose entries (including bibliographic description and annotations) following the general instructions for format and content, number the entries in sequence for the section, and submit completed text of section in Word or Wordperfect ("Times New Roman" font, size 12) or ASCII Text format (IBM compatible) via email attachment or 3.5 in. floppy disc or zip disc to General Editor by deadline date. Short general notes for section or portion of section may be composed and will be used as space permits. Section Editors are free to consult other colleagues for suggestions and assistance and are expected to consult with the General Editor about any questions relating to content or format. After review of submission by assigned Section Reviewer and General Editor, Section Editor will be consulted about potential revisions in their initial selections and text and will submit a final copy electronically to the General Editor for inclusion in the final draft copy. Final editorial review and decision on content and formatting rests with the General Editor. Section Editor also will submit identification information (name and institution) to the General Editor to be used for contributors list and for subject section Section Editor acknowledgment. Section Editors may choose to be selected for more than one section and also may serve as Section Reviewers for other sections for which they are not the Section Editor. Regardless of the number of sections for which a Section Editor is responsible, all deadlines apply equally. Section Editors are expected to be conscientious in their execution of their duties. Any Section Editor who fails to complete their work on time or who requests to be relieved of their section assignment will be replaced by the General Editor. Section Editors do not have to be Reference Round Table or Texas Library Association members, but membership is encouraged.
SECTION REVIEWERS
Responsible for checking the initial submission by the Section Editor for errors or omissions. Section Reviewers will have 2 months to complete their assignments. Earlier completion is encouraged. Will receive text electronically in format provided by Section Reviewer. Proofread the section for typographical and formatting errors. Suggest any additions or deletions to the text and entries. Submit all corrections and suggestions to the General Editor in Word or Wordperfect ("Times New Roman" font, size 12) or ASCII Text format (IBM compatible) via email attachment or 3.5 in. floppy disc or zip disc by deadline date. Section Reviewers are free to consult with colleagues and with the Section Editor about any changes or corrections needed. Section Reviewers also are expected to consult with the General Editor about any questions relating to selection and format. Final editorial review and decision on content and formatting rests with the General Editor. Section Reviewers may choose to be selected for more than one section and also may serve as Section Editors for other sections for which they are not the Section Reviewer. Regardless of the number of sections for which a Section Reviewer is responsible, all deadlines apply equally. Any Section Reviewer who fails to complete their work on time or who requests to be relieved of their section assignment will be replaced by the General Editor. Section Reviewers do not have to be Reference Round Table or Texas Library Association members, but membership is encouraged.
