REERENCE ROUND TABLE


	The Reference Round Table held its annual meeting in the Rincon Room, Driscoll 
Hotel, Corpus Christi, April 2, 1965 at 10:00 a.m.  Mrs. Helen Smith, Chairman, 
presided.  The meeting had to be moved from Room 301 in order to accommodate 
the crowd.
	The Secretary-Treasurer reported that minutes were not recorded for 
the Abilene meeting of April 9, 1964 although a list of those attending was 
kept.  Past-Chairman Anne Bailey later submitted to this group the report of  
the Nominating Committee Chairman, Lucille Boykin. The following officers were 
then elected by ballot:

   Chairman:				Mrs. Helen Smith, Unversity of Texas, 
						Business and Economics Library
   Vice-Chairman (Chairman-Elect):	Miss Lola Rivers Thompson, Graduate 
  						School of Library Science, 
						University of Texas
   Secretary-Treasurer:			Miss Maxine Johnston, Lamar State College 
						of Technology

	The Secretary-Treasurer also read a report from the Administrative 
Secretary of TLA stating tbat the Round Table's 1965 dues allotment as of 
March 1, 1965 was $66.85, and that there were no expenditures to date.  On 
March 1, the Round Table membership was 184.  Additional memberships received since 
that date bring the total to 244.
	The Secretary-Treasurer further reported that petitions were being 
circulated for chapter status in the Reference Services Division of ALA and 
that petitioners must be members of both that division and this Round Table. 
Those elegible were urged to sign.
	The report of the Nominating Committee for officers to serve in 
1965-1966 was presented by Sam Suhler.  Nominees were:

    Chairman:				Miss Lola Rivers Thompson, GSLS, University 
						of Texas
    Vice-Chairman (Chairman-Elect):	Mrs. Helen Halloran, La Retama Library, 
						Corpus Christi
    Secretary-Treasurer:		Mrs. Jesse Bennett, University Junior High
						School Library, Austin

There were no nominations from the floor, and the slate was elected by acclamation.
	Chairman Smith introduced the program on “Expectations for State-Wide 
Reference Network.”  Panalists were:  Vinita Davis, North Texas State University; 
Ann Graves, Texas State Library; Laura Dell Justin, W. B. Ray High School Library; and 
Albert Bradley, Manned Spacecraft Center, NASA, Houston.
	The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
