Texas Teens Read! Advisory Committee

The Texas Teens Read Advisory Committee (TTRAC) advises the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) on Texas Teens Read, an annual statewide summer reading program for young adults. Texas Teens Read is designed to encourage youth entering grades 7th through 12th to read for pleasure and to promote library usage during the summer months. Texas Teens Read will be primarily offered in public libraries. School libraries that are open during the summer may offer this summer reading program, if they collaborate with public libraries in their communities. School libraries in communities without a local public library may offer the programs independently. The Advisory Committee gives input into the theme, authors for the program manual, illustrators for artwork, promotional items, and other aspects of the teen summer reading program. The Advisory Committee also plans and hosts a program, co-sponsored by TSLAC, at the Texas Library Association Annual Conference on the Texas Teens Read manual
