Invitation to participate in the improved
2009 Technology Showcase

You are invited to participate in Technology Showcase during the 2009 Texas Library Association Annual Conference from March 31 – April 3, 2009 in Houston, TX. Technology Showcase offers the opportunity for vendors to demonstrate computer-based products in a focused presentation to Texas librarians.  In an effort to improve the presentation environment we have moved NetFair away from Technology Showcase to reduce noise from issues experienced in the past.

Any company meeting the Technology Showcase Guidelines, as described below, is welcome to submit an application. Companies selected to participate in the Showcase will be charged $275 to defray the cost of room and equipment rental.

General Showcase Information

The Technology Showcase is held in a conference room conveniently located in the Exhibit Hall. Seating for at least 25 attendees will be provided, along with an LCD projector, screen, and microphone.

Your company, product name, and product description will be listed in the conference printed program and on the TLA website. There will be flyers announcing the presentation schedule in the Technology Showcase conference rooms and a sign in the exhibit hall. Members of the Round Table will be on hand to make sure all equipment is working.

Technology Showcase Guidelines

·         Products must be demonstrated by company representatives.

·         Products must be "technological," that is, electrical, electronic, or using network communication technology.

·         Promotional sales literature and discussions are appropriate.

·         Companies scheduling presentations must be conference exhibitors.

·         Companies pay a fee of $275 for the opportunity to present their products.

Technology Showcase Deadlines

·         Wednesday, October 22, 2008: All applications must be received.

·        Monday, November 24, 2008: Applicants will be notified of acceptance.

·        Friday, December 12, 2008: Payment of $275 due to TLA Office

·         April 1 and April 2, 2009: Technology Showcase Presentations
