Black Caucus Round Table Scholarship/Conference Stipend

The Texas Library Association's Black Caucus (TLA-BC) is furthering library and information science professional growth of an African descent library school student enrolled full-time or part-time in the state of Texas. The TLA-BC is promoting its Conference Stipend by granting a $500 award for registration fees and conference expenses to attend the annual Texas Library Association Conference. Applicants are judged on an essay of 250 words (minimum) describing how the applicant will benefit from attending a Texas Library Conference. The eligibility criterias are:

  • The student must be of African descent.
  • The student must be enrolled as full-time or part-time student at an American Library Association accredited university or a NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) accredited program and pursing a Library Science or Information Science/MLS/MLIS or certification requirement in library information services area in Texas.
