Government Information: Access Denied?

GODORT TLA Annual Conference Program
Thursday, April 3, 2003
2:00 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.

Do citizens have more or less access now that "everything is online?" Now more than ever, information professionals, Texas and U.S. citizens need to be concerned about continued access to government information. This panel discussion will touch on issues such as the disappearance of publications from government Web sites, security concerns, the preservation of government information, and the Texas and Federal Depository Library Programs. Are libraries actually contributing to the decline in access to government information?

  • Coby Condrey, Coordinator, Texas State Publications, Texas State Library and Archives Commission
  • Margie Garner, Collection Management Librarian, Abell Library, Austin College
  • Wilson Plunkett, Government Documents Librarian, San Antonio Public Library

Valerie Glenn, presiding.

Co-sponsored by College and University Libraries Division and Government Documents Round Table.
