Many thanks to CULD for co-sponsoring this event! Program: Adding Government Information to the MixThis program will be held on Wednesday, April 6, from 10:15 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. It is a panel discussion featuring ways to incorporate government information and resources into library instruction and library research courses at all levels. Our presenters include: Hillary Campbell, UT Dallas; Leah Rosson, Central High School, San Angelo ISD; Theresa Storey and Jeff Lacy, Lamar University. Hillary Campbell will focus on ways to encourage teaching librarians to incorporate documents into their sessions, using web portals to promote government documents, and ways to incorporate documents into online tutorials and classroom management software like WebCT. Leah Rosson will discuss ways to incorporate documents into the high school setting with a focus on TEKS. Jeff Lacy will discuss the ways government information is included in the Introduction to Library Research course and the textbooks used for the class. Theresa Storey will provide examples of how government information is incorporated into library sessions and guides for courses in history, criminal justice, and social work. The presentations will provide a variety of information, ideas, and resources that can be used at every level of instruction. In addition it also offers another avenue to promote our depository collections and services.
