Genealogy Pre-Conference for 2006

Does the Census leave you senseless? TLA GODORT's pre-conference Tackling the Family Tree with Government Documents will help academic, public, and school librarians understand and utilize the vast array of government resources available for genealogical research. Taught by government documents librarians, the session will provide attendees with tools for helping patrons navigate the dizzying world of government publications.

Gay E. Carter, Documents Librarian (University of Houston-Clear Lake), and Karim Rand, Government Documents Coordinator (Texas Southern University), are teaming up to present a program filled with helpful resource ideas and suggestions for maximizing your genealogical research efforts.

The pre-conference is scheduled to be presented Tuesday, 25 April 2006, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hilton Americas Hotel, 1600 Lamar. Pre-registration is required and no onsite registrations for the pre-conference will be accepted this year. The registration form can be found at http://www.txla.org/conference/Preregistration.pdf, and the cost for the event is $40 for TLA members/$55 for non-members. Please send any questions to Hillary Campbell.

TLA GODORT wishes to sincerely thank Bill Buckner, Chair of the Genealogy Round Table, and members of the Genealogy Round Table for their generous offer to co-host this event.
