Welcome to the New Members Round Table

Welcome! The New Members Round Table is the unit within the Texas Library Association specifically for those new to the library profession or those who have been members of the Texas Library Association for five years or less. TLA is a large, complex organization. NMRT offers a friendly group with which to begin being active in the Association, where someone new to the profession and/or new to TLA can develop leadership potential, meet compatible people, and begin building a network, as well as make a real contribution. NMRT serves as a supportive launching pad into the larger organization.

To this end, NMRT offers assistance in becoming acclimated to your new profession or your new position through our Annual Conference programs, the Mentor program, and the TLA/NMRT Quality Books Inc. Professional Development Grant. There are many committees which will welcome your participation. This web site will introduce you to the current year's officers and committee chairs, and describe our programs, grants and awards. Be sure to view the page on How to Get Involved with NMRT.
