New Members Round Table Mentor Program

The New Members Round Table Mentor Program is designed especially to help newer members of the Texas Library Association (TLA) learn more about the organization and how TLA can be beneficial. The Mentor Program provides an opportunity for new members to begin creating a professional network by being matched with experienced professionals who share their professional interests and/or areas of specialization.

WAYS THE MENTOR PROGRAM CAN BENEFIT YOU

  • Learn the ropes of librarianship
  • Serve as a critical eye for your professional writing
  • Assist you in learning new skills
  • Coach you on approaching a new library position
  • Become more active in the library field and TLA
Each mentor and protege work together to determine what each will bring to their mentor relationship.

Mentor matches are made prior to each TLA Annual Conference. At the TLA Annual Conference, there is an opportunity to formally meet during the TLA New Members Round Table Conference Orientation Program.

Fill out the New Members Round Table Mentor Program application if you would like to have a mentor or if you would be interested in serving as a mentor.
