TEXAS LIBRARY ASSOCIATION -- REFERENCE ROUND TABLE

Minutes of the meeting of July 22, 1977 in the Orleans Place room
of the Fort Worth Hilton, which was held during the Annual Assembly.

Present: Charles Gilreath, Chairman; Jim Leonard,  Secretary-Treasurer;
Anna Donaldson; and Jean Tolbert

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Charles Gilreath,
at 8:40 p.m. and began with a report on the budget for the round table.

The current balance in the treasury for the round table is $1969.92. 
The final budget for the year was discussed and approved by those 
present:
		 350   for publications and miscellaneous
		 150   for conference expenses
		1200   for program operations
		 250   for newsletter

Program Operations:  $200 of this money will be offered as an 
honorarium to the program speaker at the RRT's presentation at the 
next Annual conference in April, 1978.  The chairman will ask Ms. 
Dianne Horton, doctoral student at North Texas State University,
to give a presentation on non-verbal communication. $1000 will be 
needed as a backup to cover expenses for a workshop to be sponsored 
by the Reference Round Table and the College and University Division 
on the management and financial aspects of automated information 
retrieval services in libraries.

Newsletter:  This category covers the cost of duplicating and 
mailing copies of the bylaws and a report from the Planning Committee.  
Also covered is the cost of mailing a ballot on project priorities 
and bylaw changes.

Committees:   The Chairman will name a nominating committee in the 
early Fall.

Indexing Project: The Chairman will name a committee to index Texas 
Periodicals as was done in the Texas 70 project.

The Chairman will review the accumulated records for this round 
table and send them to the Secretary for further culling.  Items 
of historical interest will be sent to the Executive Secretary 
for storage.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
