As of June 30, the RRT has a balance of $1,945.50 in its regular
account and $834.48 in the Texas Reference Sources account.

Maurice Fortin presented the report to the executive board.
Nominating Committee Report
Nancy Anderson, Chair of the Nominating Committee, announced that
Donald Buchwald and Pat Stinson-Switzer were being nominated for
Chair-Elect for 1991/92, Cherry Beth Ludtke and Kathy Mehan for
Secretary/Treasurer, and Karen Kendrick and Mary Ann Higdon for
Councilor. There was a discussion of the need for continuity
on the nominating committee and it was agreed that the outgoing
chair should meet with the incoming chair to pass on information.
Newsletter
John Hepner, editor of the RRT newsletter, indicated that an
issue would appear in November which will announce the officer
nominees. October 25 is the deadline for members to send John
information to be included in the fall newsletter issue. A
spring issue will appear immediately before the annual
conference. Because ballots will be going out to members in
January and will not be due until March 10, the election results
will not be announced until the annual conference. The spring
issue will primarily advertise the annual conference program.
The deadline for submission of material for this issue will be
February 8.
Lois Bebout Award
Theresa Trost announced that Lois Bebout would be presented a
plaque at the annual assembly luncheon. She has already received
an honorarium. It was agreed that a committee needed to be
formed to establish guidelines for future awards. Melinda
Townsel-Winston was appointed by Maurice Fortin to chair the
committee, which will work closely with the Awards committee.
Texas Reference Sources
It was announced that Walter Bell of the University of North
Texas has agreed to serve as editor of the new edition, which
should appear in 1992. He will be contacting former section
editors to see if they wish to continue. A call for participants
will appear in issues of the newsletter, Texas Library Journal,
and TLACast.
Annual Conference Program
Melinda Townsel-Winston announced that she had located a speaker
to present a program on the evaluation of reference services.
Three panelists will be selected to respond to the speaker.
Attempts will again be made to schedule the program so that it
will not conflict with other major programs at the annual
conference.
RASD Council of State and Regional Groups
John Hepner reported on the meetinq at the ALA annual conference.
As editor of their newsletter Reference Roundup, he will be
placing a notice in it regarding our sale of remaining issues of
Texas Reference Sources. The Council is preparing a directory of
state and regional groups and is attempting to obtain copies of
all by-laws.
Progress Report
A copy of the progress report was distributed by Pat Stinson-
Switzer.
Planning
There was a brief discussion of the TLA planning process and the
role of the Planning Committee in long range planning.
The meeting was then adjourned.
