BUSINESS MEETING, APRIL 11, 1991
MINUTES


Maurice Fortin chaired the meeting.

Introduction of Officers

The 1990-91 Reference Roundtable officers were introduced.

Secretary/Treasurer's Report

The minutes of the April 4, 1990 Business Meeting were read and 
approved.

The Secretary/Treasurer reported that as of March 31, 1991 the 
Reference Round Table had a balance of $2,592.17 in its regular 
account and $909.48 in the Texas Reference Sources account.  These 
amounts do not reflect 1991 program expenses of approximately 
$1,000.00.

Lois Bebout Award

Melinda Townsel-Winston, Chair of the ad hoc committee to formulate 
guidelines, reported that the proposed guidelines were discussed at 
the executive board meeting and were being revised.

RRT Newsletter

John Hepner, newsletter editor, reported that two issues were 
published for 1990-91 at a cost of under $230.00. He will continue 
to edit the newsletter for the upcoming year.  News items for the 
fall issue should be sent to him by October 1.

Texas Reference Sources

Martha Tarlton read the progress report from Walter Bell, editor.  
Individuals interested in serving as subject editors or reviewers 
should contact Dr. Bell at the University of North Texas.

Nominating Committee

Nancy Anderson, Chair of the Nominating Committee, reported that 
Donald Buchwald was elected Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, Cherry Luedtke 
Secretary-Treasurer, Mary Ann Higdon Councilor, and Karen Hendrick 
alternate Councilor.

New Business

At the Annual Assembly Executive Board Meeting, Reference Round 
Table will consider providing funding for TLA legislative 
activities.

RASD Council of State and Regional Groups

John Hepner reported that the council will sponsor an open forum at 
the ALA Annual Conference on the topic of term paper counseling.  
He also indicated that he had been nominated for Chair-Elect of the 
Council.

White House Conference Delegate Information Sharing Program

Melinda Townsel-Winston and Claudette Hagle were appointed as Reference 
Round Table representatives to this program.

Conference Program

Program ideas for the 1992 conference should be submitted to 
Melinda Townsel-Winston.

Introduction of 1991-92 Officers

Melinda Townsel-Winston introduced the 1991-92 officers.  In addition to 
the officers announced in the nominating committee report, they 
include Nancy Anderson, Thomas Rohrig, and John Russell as the 
Nominating Committee and John Hepner as newsletter editor.

The meeting was adjourned.
