Bill Hord, Chairman of Reference Round Table (RRT), called to order the business
meeting of the RRT at 9:00 a.m. He introduced the out-going and in-coming officers
for RRT.
Terri Miller, Secretary of RRT, read the minutes of the 1993/94 Annual Conference.
There were no revisions to the minutes. Ms. Miller also gave the Treasurer's Report.
The RRT has a balance of $2,237.
Chairman Hord asked the members to promote Texas Reference Sources. He said the pre-
conference meeting "Reference and the Internet: Issues and Answers" was attended by
approximately 130 TLA members. Mr. Hord reported on the Executive Board meeting held
on April 13. He said that RRT would support Legislative Day with a gift of $100. It
was also agreed to give a $350 stipend to a member of RRT for TALL Texans Leadership
Institute. Elaine Klobe who is a member of RRT was selected to participate in the
TALL Texans. It was decided that she would receive the stipend. The business
meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m. The program followed the meeting.
"Ride the Tide: Collection Management in Times of Fiscal Restraints" was the name of
the program. Eva Poole, Director of Denton Public Library, Pam DeVoe, Librarian at
Arlington Heights High School in Ft. Worth, and Jacquelyn Crinion, Collection
Development Librarian at the University of Texas at San Antonio were the guest
speakers.
Richard Dickey presided over the program. The program was underwritten by Reference
Round Table and the Acquisitions and Collection Development Round Table. Questions
and answers followed the program. Approximately 125 members were present.
