Reference Round Table Business Meeting

Date and Time: Thursday, April 10, 1997, 10:30 a.m., Fort Worth Convention Center, 
Fort Worth, Texas

1. The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Claudette Hagle, Chair.

2. The minutes of the last business meeting were read by Fran Ebbers, Secretary/Treasurer
and approved as read.  Fran Ebbers reported a balance of $4,299.43.

3. Claudette Hagle announced the new officers for 1997-98 as follows: Jeanne Pyle,
Chair; Ron Glass, Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect; Marian Jackson, Secretary/Treasurer, Fran
Ebbers, Councilor, and Patricia Switzer, Alternate Councilor.  Susan Beck and the
Nominations Committee were thanked for their work.

4. The following were elected to the Nominations Committee: Susan Beck, Karen 
Nichols, and Denise Landry-Hyde.

5. An announcement was made about the web site for the RRT.

6. Old Business
	A. Joyce Hopkins announced that the Texas Reference Source Award Committee 
	   is taking nominations.  Forms are available at the RRT booth for nomination 
	   deadline May 1, 1997.

7. New Business
	A. Attendees were asked to become involved in RRT.  Volunteers for committee 
	   work were asked to see Jeanne Pyle after the meeting.

8. A drawing was held for the Directory of Texas Manufacturers donated by Buzzy Basch
of the Reference Shelf.  Carolyn Weatherford of the Brazoria County Library System was
the winner.

9. Other Business: Jeanne Pyle was thanked for planning the program and getting the
RRT web page on the TLA site.  Claudette thanked the Executive Board members, Fran 
Ebbers, Pat Switzer, Melinda Townsel, Cherry Leudtke, and Will Stuivenga, newsletter 
chair, and Martha Tarlton, booth chair, for their assistance during the past year.  She 
asked that attendees submit an annotation of their favorite web site for the RRT newsletter.

10. The Business Meeting was adjourned at 10:39 a.m.

11. Jeanne Pyle introduced the panel: Diane Downing, Karen B. Nichols, Betty 
Thompson and the program entitled "The Faceless Patron: Serving the Remote User."
