Sources of Information About Texas:
A Basic List
The following list of basic reference books about Texas was compiled by the Texas Library
Association, Reference Round Table, Committee on Texas Information Sources. No claims are
made that the list is comprehensive or even representative of all subject areas. It is merely a
compilation of titles which the committee members and other librarians who made suggestions
felt should he known by all Texas librarians. Many of the TLA districts will be displaying
these materials (and others, if the district so desires) at the district meetings this fall in an
effort to give as many Texas librarians as possible a chance to look at some of the materials
about Texas available to them.
