RRT 2004 CONFERENCE PROGRAM
RESPONDING TO CHANGE: INNOVATIVE IDEAS FOR REFERENCE SERVICES

Focus on how libraries are responding to changing patron needs and changing patron populations.
Miriam J. Rodriguez, Multicultural Services Supervisor for Irving Public Library, will talk about providing and enhancing reference service for non-English-speaking populations.
Francis A. May, Coordinator of User Education and Outreach for the University of North Texas Libraries, will speak about developing reference services for distance learning students.
Tina Oswald, Head of Reference at Stephen F. Austin State University, will discuss her library's move from traditional reference service to tiered reference service.
Jeff Elliott, Assistant Director of the Academic Assistance and Resource Center at Stephen F. Austin State University, will talk about the training of student assistants to staff the Information Desk under this new model.
Susan Norrisey, RRT Chair-Elect and Program Coordinator, will preside.
A short Reference Round Table business meeting will follow the program and the official presentation of the 2004 Outstanding Texas Reference Source Award will precede the program.
