The 2008 Texas Reference Source Award will be presented at the start of the RRT program 8:00-9:50 a.m. Thursday, 17 April, during the TLA Annual Conference in Dallas. Landscaping with Native Plants of Texas by George Oxford Miller published in 2006 by Voyageur Press was selected to receive the 2008 Texas Reference Source Award. The book was chosen out of 18 nominated titles for its wide range of uses and its appeal to a wide variety of libraries. Emphasizing the use of native Texas plants for year-round landscape value, chapters provide guidelines for selection, planting, maintenance, and design. Illustrated with photos, maps, charts, and design examples, plant descriptions provide detailed habitat requirements.
