Nominations are requested for the Lois Bebout Reference Service Award. The Reference Round Table bestows this award to honor and recognize a librarian for outstanding lifetime achievements in reference and public service. It is not necessarily an annual award, as it is given only when a nominee is presented who fulfills the qualifications. Presented at annual conference, the award includes an honorarium and a plaque.
A nominee should have achieved distinction by strengthening librarian/library roles and positions in communities, by sustained or singular active and creative promotion of reference and public services, by providing recognized leadership in the professional community, and/or by scholarly contributions. Nominees must be members of TLA and RRT.
