A
brave, young huntsman, a magical golden mare, and a lovely, clever
princess outwit a jealous, greedy Tsar in this original story based on
elements from several traditional Russian folktales. When Alexi leaves
home to seek his fortune, he spares the life of the Golden Mare who
promises to be forever loyal. When Alexi will not give the Golden Mare
to the Tsar, he presents Alexi with impossible tasks. Each time, the
Tsar threatens Alexi’s life if he fails, but each time (with the help
of the Golden Mare) he succeeds. The final task is to bring Yelena the
Fair to the Tsar for marriage. Can Alexi rely on his on wits to save
Yelena and himself?
