Eleven-year-old Marty Preston lives high in the
hills of West Virginia. When he comes across a mistreated beagle, a series of
events begin which bring tough questions to be solved. What
do you do when a dog you think may be being mistreated runs away
and comes to you? What do you do when it is
someone else's dog? Marty learns that it is not always easy
to separate right from wrong and he faces difficult, grown-up
issues in the process.
