On behalf of TPALS and TLA, I'd like to send a huge
Texas THANK YOU to all who attended our first-ever TPALS
sponsored TLA Exhibitor Marketing Session in Austin on
February 11. Your presence and participation at Texas Library
Legislative Day gave a true testament of not only your commitment
to Texas libraries, but to your own professionalism as well.
As TPALS Chair, it was very gratifying to see so many of
you make the effort to attend this event (many on very
short notice).
As I mentioned to all who were present at the beginning of
our session that afternoon, we were more than a little
unsure during our planning as to how many of you would or
could attend this event. With over 40 vendor representatives
in attendance, TLA and TPALS considered this event to be
a huge success
one that we would like to build upon in
the future.
We thank the following for attending the TPALS
Educational program on February 11 and the TLA Legislative Day:

and how we may better assist TLA as the professional
round table we are. Whether you were able to attend
Texas Library Legislative Day this year or not, TPALS
needs your participation and support going forward.
Through meetings such as this, we not only support TLA and
their interests, but offer you an individual voice within
the vendor community to TLA and our collective interests
as well.

"I was very impressed with
the program. I had a whole page of comments and notes that I took
during the presentations. It was really nice of the presenters to take the time to
talk to the vendors. And I was also impressed by the number of
vendors that attended."
Rose Marie McElfresh, Marcive
"Thanks so much! It was a great day
and I learned a great deal from this event. I loved the setup!
I was so glad I had the opportunity to meet so many
great people and support libraries. I look forward to
seeing you at TLA!"
Tammy
Billings, Baker & Taylor
"We sure did appreciate the
information by Mr. Erschik, as well as the panel of "specialists" you
had assembled. The TLA Conference has become one of our favorites."
Matt
Allan, Sauder
"As 2003 unfolds it is clear that better marketing and follow
up are necessary in the more competitive environment that
a tough fiscal situation creates. This event was a good
venue to share and learn interesting information; as well as,
a networking opportunity to talk with and interact with
library administrators and fellow library reps. Time well spent."
