June Kahler Berry's Retirement Celebration, July 11, 2003

June Kahler Berry, TALL Texans Leadership Institute Coordinator, was honored at the Annual Assembly luncheon. She had announced her retirement from active participation, but will continue to be involved with the program in an unofficial capacity. TALL Texans had worked secretly for months to celebrate her tenure. June was presented with a scrapbook and a specially-made quilt, both of which featured highlights of the Institute over the past decade. A scholarship fund in her name has also been created to help future TALL Texans participate in the Institute. Here are some highlights from the luncheon:

June (at podium with TLA president Eva Poole) was serenaded by TALL Texans Viccy Kemp, Linda Waggener, Linda Alexander, Janice Richardson, Jill Sumpter, Janis Test, Flo Mitchell, & Danea Hall Morton; they sang a song about June's many accomplishments (written by Janice and set to the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies").
