Highsmith Collaboration Award

The Highsmith Collaboration Award recognizes achievement in planning and implementing collaborative library  programs or services. Presented at the Texas Library Association Annual Conference each spring, the award  encourages collaboration by highlighting library programs or services that have a measurable impact on users and can be replicated by other libraries and communities. Libraries of any size or type are eligible for the award, which will consist of $1,000 and a plaque to be presented by Highsmith, Inc.

 
The Highsmith Texas School Library Award was presented to the Waxahachie High School Library (Waxahachie ISD) for their Bookmobile. The program's goal is to deliver books during the summer month's to children with limited library access. Widepread community and school participation and collaboration made the project possible. 
LOCK.NET (Lockhart Neighborhood Electronic Training) won Highsmith's Texas Library Award. The outreach project provides off-site computer training to under-served rural and disadvantaged populations. Collaborative partners offer training space, program promotion, and other support.

RoseAleta Laurell (Library Director) and Michele Schalin (LOCK.NET Project Manager) accepted the award.
