Two Texas Librarians Win 2015 I Love My Librarian Awards

Two Texas librarians were among the 10 winners of the I Love My Librarian Award, granted to individuals showing “exceptional public service to the community and ongoing commitment to transforming lives through education and lifelong learning,” according to a press release from the American Library Association (ALA).

We, the Texas Library Association and its members, extend our congratulations to the two winners representing librarians statewide:

Doug Campbell
Willis Library, University of North Texas
Denton, Texas

Courtney P. Kincaid
Formerly with Hood County Library
Granbury, Texas

Each recipient received a $5,000 prize at a ceremony and reception on December 3, in New York City. The event is hosted by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, which sponsors the award. The New York Public Library and the New York Times are co-sponsors, and ALA administers the award.
