TEA ESSA Survey Talking Points

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version Share this

The TLA's Joint Task Force on ESSA developed messaging to support the importance of effective school library programs to be used in responding to the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) online ESSA survey. The deadline for completing the ESSA Public Input Survey is November 18.

While the survey does not specifically address school libraries or librarians, this is an opportunity for the library community to weigh in and communicate the important role effective school library programs play in students’ success.

TLA’s Joint Task force on ESSA developed messaging that can be used in the open-ended “Other” responses following several of the survey questions. Choose one of the talking points provided, or write your own. Keep in mind that there is a 200 character count limit on all but question #9. DOWNLOAD THE TALKING POINTS

We encourage you and your colleagues to respond to the survey, and include messaging supporting the importance of effective school library programs.   COMPLETE THE SURVEY
