Welcome to the 2011 edition of Kathy P's Program Proofing Page.

There's a link at the bottom of the page to the updated TLA 2011 Conference Program text as revised by Conference Steering Committee members and select TLA staff in a grueling 3-day marathon that left us all red of eye but unflagging in our determination to make this year's publication the best ever! Now we need YOU to proof the text for your program(s) and let us know about any problems you see.

Whether you view the document online or download it to your computer, you will need to search for your event number(s) and then check these details:

  1. Is your name correctly spelled?
  2. Are your affiliations correct?
  3. Is the title (if different from original submission) acceptable?
  4. Does the scope note convey the content of your presentation?

Speakers are entered alphabetically in all program listings. The format for speaker titles complies with other TLA publications and follows the Chicago Style Manual

PHOTOS

The designation "photo" or "photos" by an event number indicates that we want pictures of particular speakers or presenters for that program. If you find a note that your photo is needed, please send a print resolution image to Mary Ann at TLA asap. She can also answer any questions you may have about useable files.

SCOPE NOTES (program descriptions)

Please carefully review each scope note for each of your events. You may find that your scope note and program title have changed. The committee and TLA staff members edit the text to conform to program standards, enhance clarity, and increase the marketability of each presentation. If you feel strongly that the revisions conflict with what you had in mind, please communicate this to us immediately.

FEEDBACK

We are on a very tight schedule and hope to distribute the conference printed program to members after the first of the new year. In order to incorporate any additions and/or corrections, they must be received -- in writing -- at the TLA office by NOON on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Information can be emailed to Kathy and Elise.
