Submit Your Conference Program Proposals

The Texas Library Association Conference features over 400 sessions and events and more than 1,500 presenters. The proposal process is highly competitive, and every year the serving Conference Programming Committee reviews hundreds of submissions. The majority of conference programs originate from groups within the association.  If you are not affiliated with TLA but want to present a program idea for consideration, please submit the form below.

Timeline: The time frame for submitting program proposals is January 1 to June 30 to be considered for the next year’s conference. If your program is not selected, and you want to propose it again for the following year, a new proposal submission is required since proposals are not carried over from year to year.

TLA will notify individuals ONLY if their programs are accepted by a TLA unit or the Conference Program Committee. If you have a question about your program status, please contact the Chair of the Program Proposals Subcommittee.

TLA is frequently overwhelmed with many wonderful program suggestions. However, because of limited meeting space in the convention centers and a comprehensive array of programs planned by the TLA units and the Conference Program Committee, TLA cannot always accept a program proposal as part of the main schedule.

Our first priority for program assignments goes to our units. Occasionally, vendors will partner with a TLA unit or the Program Committee for sponsorship of a certain program; otherwise, there is not a venue for vendor-sponsored programs.

However, the Conference also includes many other opportunities for presentation. Please see the additional special sessions for programs in the Innovation Lab, Pop Up Programs, Poster Sessions, and Collaboration Lab.
