TEA Rules on Reimbursements to Media Specialists and Teachers

The Commissioner of Education has published a proposed rule which would make campus library media specialists eligible for the State’s teacher supply reimbursement grant program. The rule is published to meet actions stipulated in the General Appropriations Act of the 79th Legislature.

The proposed amendment would update several provisions of the program. Reimbursement of campus library media specialists would be added wherever reimbursement to teachers is authorized. The proposed rule and summary information may be accessed at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/rules/commissioner/proposed/0506/61-1081-ltrprop.html. The proposed effective date is August 12, 2006.

The Texas Education Agency will take comments on the rule through July 2, 2006.
