Texas Library Journal, the official membership publication of the Texas Library Association, is published four times annually. The readership of more than 7,000 includes librarians and library staff, publishers and vendors, trustees, friends and supporters, and library users.

The TLA Annual Conference Program provides an additional advertising opportunity. The program mails in early January and will put your message in the hands of  approximately 12,000  public, school, academic, and special library employees, suppliers, supporters, and citizen advocates. Conference Program advertisers must also be exhibitors at conference. 

Contract advertisers (4 consecutive issues) with the Journal receive a $300 discount off a full page ad in TLA's Annual Conference Program and priority in selecting placement for advertising in TLA's Annual Conference Program.

Production Specifications

The Journal is printed on 60# glossy book stock. Ad dimensions are listed above. Trim size is 8.5 x 11 and bleeds are allowed on full page ads (add minimum of 1/8 inch on all sides).  Contact Mary Ann if you want to include bleeds on a smaller ad size. 

Artwork may be mailed or sent as an email attachment to Mary Ann Emerson. Electronic files are preferred for both color and black and white ads. Stuff/zip large files packaged with necessary fonts and graphics where appropriate. High resolution graphics files and PDFs are effective for many ads. Please also send a proof (printout) of the ad; a graphics file or PDF will serve this purpose for electronically delivered ads.

Billing Terms and Conditions

  • Advertising accounts will be billed shortly after publication of each issue. A copy of each issue in which the advertisement appears, as well as the requested number of tearsheets, will be forwarded with the invoice.
  • Texas Library Journal does not pay a commission to advertising agencies.
  • Cancellations will be accepted up to 30 days prior to the issue deadline (see "Deadlines"). A $25 cancellation fee will be charged. Cancellations within 30 days of the issue deadline will be billed at the full base rate.

All accounts are net 30 days. If an account is not paid within 60 days of the invoice date, a 15 percent surcharge will be added to the balance.

   FEB 1 for contract, artwork by 2/15; issue mailed by March 31
SUMMER (No. 2):
   MAY 1 for contract, artwork by 5/15; issue mailed by June 30
FALL (No. 3):
   AUG 1 for contract, artwork by 8/15; issue mailed by September 30
WINTER (No. 4):
   NOV 1 for contract, artwork by 11/15; issue mailed by December 31
