Indexes Gammel’s laws of Texas (see T-CK66).
Covers the volumes known as Gammel’s laws of Texas (see T-CK66), which furnish reprints of all legal documents of the colonial era as well as the laws and constitutions of the Republic and the State. Of the two indexes available, the one by Raines (T-CK53) is more complete, but in isolated instances, this one may locate a law that is obscure in Raines. After 1906, no cumulated index of Texas session laws was compiled.

Originally published without supplement in 1984 by Texas Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. Annotates over 100 sources of statistical information issued between 1970 and 1984 by Texas state agencies concerned with law enforcement and criminal justice. Includes offenders, victims, and judicial process. Geographic index identifies reports with statistics by region, county, SMSA, and city. Now somewhat dated, but some sources are still being produced.

Unannotated version called by lawyers the "Red Statutes" as distinguished from the "Black Statutes" annotated edition, so called from the color of the bindings. Without a cumulated index, the set is cumbersome to use. Its chief value is in locating the text of repealed statutes. The set is superceded by
West’s Texas statutes and codes (T-CK83), which ceased publication after 1983.
Unannotated edition with cumulative bound supplements issued biennially through 1981. Issued as compression binders in 1983 with individual pamphlets covering areas of the statutes and codes. Ceased publication after 1983. Value continues as source of the text of repealed statutes.
