METEOROLOGY
Defines climate as the history of weather determined by long-term averages of precipitation, temperature, evaporation, and wind. Averages are from the years 1961 to 1990.
Weather patterns over past years and prediction of future climatic conditions as they may happen in 50 to 500 years, incorporating factors such as planetary surface warming, regional population density, and water demand. Predicts what future changes will mean to the human and natural systems of the state. The studies grew out of a conference held at Texas A&M Univ. in 1993 and were written by leading geographers, meteorologists, engineers, geomorphologists, agricultural economists, oceanographers, urban planners, political scientists, and wildlife scientists.
Utilizes meteorological, geological, physiographical, and hydrological data to assist the reader to a better understanding of the inter-relationships that location and topography have on the climate of Texas.

Two estuaries in Texas in the EPA’s National Estuary Program. The first program is dedicated to protecting and restoring bays and estuaries in the Texas Coastal Bend. Cooperative between many Texas agencies including the Texas Water Development Board, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (formerly the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission), Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Water Monitoring Council, and the Drought Preparedness Council. Founded in 1993, the WaterWise Council’s mission is to "promote water conservation practices in Texas through a public-private partnership that fosters awareness and implementation of sound water management." Simple statistics and diagrams regarding water use in Texas. Best management practices in irrigation, lawn management, and landscaping.
One key program is the Water Quality Management Plan, which was passed in 1993 by the state Senate (Senate Bill 503). This site is not all water-related, but there are links to pertinent sections of the Texas Statutes.
